My Home Theatre Setup with Sony HW-10
Recently I have purchased a Sony HW-10 projector in my new apartment. The reason I bought this is because of the price of the entry-level projector is getting very reasonable now and also my current LCD is too small for my living room. And now my Philips 37” LCD becomes a big picture frame instead of a TV .
Initially I thought of getting a 100” screen, after a site visit by an AV expert, he suggested me to get a 90” instead. And the projector will be hanged down from the ceiling and minimized the horizontal adjustment.
After all the setup and installation is done, this is the picture of how it looks like:

My addition to the home theatre includes the following:
1.Sony HW-10
2.Grandview Fantasy series 90” screen
3.Onkyo SX-806
4.SunWire 15m HDMI cable
5.SunWire HDMI Matrix with 4 inputs and 2 outputs
6.Scandyna Podspeakers MiniPod x 4
7.Scandyna Podspeakers CinePod

Tips
1.Set yourself a budget first.
2.Bring your wife to see a demonstration and make sure she likes the projector you buy.
3.Make precise measurement for the length of the HDMI cable.
4.Make sure your projector support vertical and horizontal image shift that suits your living room. Different models have different magnitude of scaling the image position.
5.Invest on a decent HDMI cable. The longer cable you need, the more expensive one is necessary.
6.Make sure your room is dark enough when you use your curtains.
7.Investing in a projector is not a one-off. The life span of a projector is usually 2000 - 3000 hours depending on your usage.
8.An honest advice, don’t compare the one you want to buy with a more expensive model. The expensive one will definitely have a better video quality.
I would love to know the set up of your own home theatre and for my coming up guide.
